Artist's Comments

A friend of mine asked me to draw her Jesus's hands, and she described how she wanted it depicted. But, alas! I waited so long to start, the imagery that she put into my mind had faded, and I came up with something rather weird, I'm sorry to say. My bro says it's gory--my sis says it's cool--my mom says it's good art, but a little gross... I don't know what to think.
Anyroad, no matter how I think it came out, I wanted to honor God in that He sent His son to die for our sins. ^^;

Time: ?? It was too spread out to know...
Medium: Watercolor, ink and white acrylic

Very nice. I especially like how you did it so accurately too: putting the wounds in his wrists instead of his hands. It's the first time I've seen anyone depict Christ's wounds this way. Great job!

Thank you very much! I was just thinking about the fact that none of His bones were broken today--and putting the nail through His wrists is in keeping with that, 'cause there are too many bones in the hand. Was also thinking about the abundance of bones in the feet. Where were the nails in his feet exactly? ^^; I'll try painting that later.

wow...this is just amazing. usually bloody stuff grosses me out, but this just amazes me. i absolutely love the shading. i've tried to paint with watercolour, but it didn't come out so well ._.;; the wounds look near perfect. i love this piece. i would buy it as a print :)

Never considered a print account. Perhaps one day when I feel like more of my art is worth printing.
